近日台灣 Metoo 性騷擾事件頻傳，這讓我想起兩年前公司曾發佈公告，禁用兩組歧視性文字 ─ master/slave and blacklist/whitelist，因為這兩組文字涉及性別與種族歧視，因此公司將所有文件、網站資料把這兩組文字內容予以替換修正。這兩組文字被棄用後，取而代之的是更具包容性的術語，像是 master/slave 由 primary/secondary or controller/ director/follower 取代，blacklist/whitelist 由 blocklist/allowlist 取代。

公告原文如下

Master/slave and blacklist/whitelist – are being deprecated in favor of more inclusive terminology. A cross-company project team has created and actioned a comprehensive plan to find and replace instances of these terms across our instrument software, learning products, and other internal and external collateral and web-based resources.

 References to the terms master/slave are being replaced by primary/secondary or controller/ director/follower. The terms blacklist/whitelist are being changed to blocklist/allowlist.
